The following types of stand structures require approval:

• Each stand larger than 100 m² in the halls, as well as
• all multi-storey stand constructions,
• all stand constructions in the open-air section,
• special constructions or exhibits with a height of more than 6.50 m

are subject to approval and certain conditions. Stand design plans must be submitted to the VDA for assessment and approval.

When renting a modular stand from Deutsche Messe or an IAA-Package no stand construction approval is required. However, the modular stands still need to comply fully with the stand construction guidelines.
